Art About Town: Santa Barbara “Boots with Soul” Photography on Display Now
Baltodano || Baltodano LLP proudly renews our support for the San Luis Museum of Art (SLOMA) through continued participation in Art About Town, a unique partnership between local businesses and local artists, whereby artwork is displayed in private and public offices. Our law firm is currently exhibiting the vivid photography of Santa Barbara artist Michael “Fish” Fisher.
Fish’s artistic approach is simple: the collision of reality and abstraction beneath his feet. Using his boots as an anchor point, Fish flattens three dimensional space to a point that whatever is familiar is reduced to pure shape and color. As Fish explains, “I want to lead your eyes beyond the mundane and ordinary and into the beauty of the world beneath our own feet.” Visit Fish-Footage.com for more information about this unique artist and come view several of his pieces on display at Baltodano & Baltodano LLP through April 2013.

Baltodano || Baltodano LLP Joins the California Minority Counsel Program
Baltodano || Baltodano LLP recently joined the California Minority Counsel Program (CMCP), a non-profit professional organization dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion among the state’s attorney population. According to CMCP, 54% of the state’s population is comprised of minorities. However, minorities are disproportionately underrepresented at all levels of the legal profession. In 2001, the California State Bar estimated that only 17% of the state’s attorneys were people of color. This percentage is even lower for lawyers in law firm senior associate and partnership ranks as well as those who occupy leadership roles in corporate America.
As a minority-owned law firm, Baltodano || Baltodano LLP is a proud member of CMCP and supports its mission of creating professional opportunities for all attorneys – especially lawyers who have historically been underrepresented in the profession – and fostering a more just and inclusive justice system.
For more information about CMCP, please visit www.cmcp.org.
